Pros

VERY easy to get hired and decent salary -- that's where the pros end.

Cons

Cons = everything that happens after you're hired on. As you can see from prior reviews (and the totally laughable responses by the CEO Ian) Augmedix is simply terrible. I think it started out as a great idea between two naive guys who simply ran it into the ground. The company motto is to "rehumanize medicine" which sounds great, but this is done by way of "dehumanizing employees." Unless you're one of the "elite", meaning Ian's friends or the team of 25-30 year old "managers" that have zero experience in business, life, or anything else, you're treated like garbage. Another reviewer wrote something about having a lot of MBAs at the company -- if more than a few people in Augmedix management have MBAs I'd be shocked, because the management team isn't qualified to manage a corner store. I have never worked in a place where even the top "minds" of the company are so heavily into the clique culture. Even people employees should be able to count on play into this cult like culture of hate, and they will go out of their way to make those they do not like feel isolated, uncomfortable and miserable. Please do read the other reviews, and read the CEO responses if you want a good laugh. Rest assured, you can trust the employees on this one -- not the CEO that is trying to hold together some semblance of a decent company. It will all be gone soon.

Pros

Awesome culture and co-worker!!! Food (Snacks and lunch/dinner) Transport facility Medical Insurance Salary on time with 2 festival bonus Monthly festival event Annual event

Cons

The work is mostly night shift which is sometimes very challenging and stressful under pressure regardless of family time and social life or even long term health condition. It is performance oriented job which implies one should perform constantly in real time regardless of any issues like fatigue or illness. (Exceptions are very few) Since the company is US based startup, it follows American holiday which is a constraint of claiming any government/public holiday like Bangla New Year, Independence Day etc. Of note, there are around seven (7) holidays in the calendar year. Also, you may have to work on Eid day if you have no substitution. Last but not least, the employees especially the medical scribes are not equally treated in terms of respect and remuneration. Also, the employer may terminate anyone without any prior notice regardless of any contract.

Pros

Seemed to have an innovative idea which aimed to improve medicine.

Cons

Quite possibly the worst company in San Francisco and beyond. Management from the CEO to Operations to HR to scribe management are all embarrassingly terrible. Coming from a well established and well managed company that isn’t running itself into the ground like Augmedix is, I have never seen such an astonishing debacle. Augmedix management refuses to take outside guidance or advice. People with zero business experience are attempting to run a business, but again, it’s halfway in the ground and will be gone completely soon. Technology is outdated and laughable, they violate employment laws left and right, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. I don’t need to repeat the reviews of others as you can read them yourself. If you want to be part of a failing company that has blown millions in investor money for something that will be replaced by AI in a year or two, by all means, apply — best of luck. I am sure I will get the standard “Augmedix CEO reply” to this, but readers beware, they will say anything to lure you in. Don’t fall for it like I, and many others, did.

Augmedix Response

Thank you for sharing your concerns. I am sorry to hear you left the company with a negative perception, I wish we could have clarified earlier. I can assure you these are not standard responses. We make an explicit effort to be transparent - we are open about good news and not-so-good news. For most of these responses, I draft and the Augmedix Chief of Staff/People team reviews. I sometimes need to reach out to other departments to confirm information and make sure I respond accurately. Either way, I personally agonize over every one of these replies. I’m not sure that people at Augmedix are paid *lavishly* in cash or other flashy startup benefits that you often hear about these days. There isn’t a “mahogany row” here (unlike some of the prior companies that I worked at, before founding Augmedix - really frustrated me). We have an appropriately frugal and serious culture that is oriented around long term outcomes (and incented accordingly, in a measured way). I’m not aware of employment laws that we violate. If you know of something, please elevate to me ASAP. I’m deeply sorry that things didn’t work out for your here at Augmedix. I’ve also had not-so-great career experiences in my path. During the time, I was confused and upset, but in hindsight, I learned a lot for the ups and the downs. All the best.
