Pros

Coworkers are positive and have adequate teamwork. Annual Christmas bonus

Cons

Many changes by upper management in last few years, the climate to employees and patients alike is on a rapid decline. It is clearer and clearer that every day the hospital cares only about money and not about people. Illogical choices made by administrators that have no sense of reality because they do not work with patients and have not for years, if ever. Company execs constantly do "walkthroughs" of the Emergency Department, but they come around 8am when the day has not really begun, and pretend we are overstaffed. They never come when we are really busy (i.e. every day after 11am). They do offer an annual christmas bonus, but withhold the entire amount if an employee does not keep up to date on every last "certification" (some of them hospital specific busywork that we have to repeat every year), or has not attended enough staff meetings (which are often 6am on your day off), and jump through other hoops. The hospital does unsafe things with regard to patient care, and especially in the emergency room, and when something dangerous happens, they ignore their ridiculous and dangerous regulations, fire an employee as a scapegoat, and then do nothing. The fact that this place is still Magnet designated is an absolute joke. Pay among multiple positions is also lower than career counterparts in any other healthcare system in south Jersey.

Pros

Location, technology, retirement match, annual salary raises and bonus (depending on if the entire health system meets certain goals i.e. overall customer service scores). Coworkers.

Cons

Management is extremely disconnected from what we actually need to perform our jobs and what we actually do. AtlantiCare seems to keep promoting leadership until they are in a position they are completely unqualified for, and frankly, not good at. Wayyyyy too top heavy, way too many leadership roles, i.e. there are managers, directors, AVPs and leadership above them. They tighten the reins on OT and staffing to save money, yet they have all these people in leadership positions that don't need to exist. Way too many nurses in high leadership positions and not enough balance of providers who actually known and remember what it takes to safely care for our patients. They make sure they employees known that they are completely expendable, it's actually in the employee handbook now in not so many words, they don't make us feel respected and values anymore, we are the machines there to get them their customer service scores and do the grunt work so they can get their huge annual bonuses, there's no feeling of pride or loyalty for many anymore.

Pros

Health benefits and salary ok Tuition reimbursement offered but its conditional upon doing a lot of extra work/joining no committees that you have no time for (because you are actually in school and working for them) and Then You have to try and receive the tuition money from an extremely rude woman who has been working there forever and makes it as difficult as possible to get through the process as if it's her money she's giving out

Cons

Do not hire any Outsiders into Leadership roles: not one male or even a physician in leadership position. Operated by a group of old nurses who have lost touch with the difficulties of taking care of patients. Budget constraints outweigh patient safety and staffing ratios.
