Pros

She provides snacks for employees

Cons

Probably the worst work environment I’ve ever been in. No structure. No management. Owner is a bully

Thank you for leaving your feedback. By giving too many optimistic opportunities to the wrong individuals we've had a tremendous struggle with fulfilling the roles the agency required. Though structure can be followed, it can't be forced. Since your departure, we can confidently say this has improved in every way with the realization you shouldn't have to beg professionals to fulfill their roles appropriately. While we are sad you weren't a good fit it has been incredible for us to find the right team members. Not a chance of us closing down any time in the near future as our clients rave about our ability to serve their needs and our current team acknowledges the importance of their responsibilities. We suggest you take some time to reframe your perspective. When you are hired to do a job the anticipation that you will fulfill that need becomes the expectation. When you aren't profitable to the agency or willing to help formulate successful solutions it becomes unfavorable to both the clients we serve and the agency itself. So think, are you the bully? You came into a role to act as a team member. You were there to serve not be served. You became entitled / unwilling to be a part of the solution. What are we supposed to do in that situation? "close down" is not the answer. Hope your negativity doesn't follow you into the rest of your life.

Pros

Across the street from a coffee shop

Cons

Truth be told, I've never worked in such a toxic and unstable work environment. The owner is a professional at selling dreams to get new talent in the door, but if you pay close enough attention, the red flags are everywhere. The owner will likely share her routine spiel about how she is such a giving person and everyone she has hired in the past has been the problem when in reality, she is the reason her agency remains a tiny fish in a big pond. Prepare yourself to be micromanaged (down to clocking out when using the restroom). While I understand clocking time is required to bill clients appropriately, you will be required to log EVERY individual task, including checking emails. Her go-to phrase is "I don't want to hold anyone's hand" but in reality, employees receive NO detailed instructions, leaving everything open to interpretation, only to be scolded down the line for doing the job wrong. The owner knows NO sense of professionalism. Her disheveled appearance gives off the impression that she just rolled out of bed (but has the nerve to uphold a dress code). She loves to gossip about other employees, hoping someone will join in as if this is exemplary behavior. She also speaks terribly about her clients to employees, claiming that they are 'annoying' and that if it wasn't for her, they wouldn't be where they are today. Her leadership skills are at an all-time low, in fact, she commonly mentions she "doesn't want to be the boss", but is obsessed with being in control. She records both videos and sounds in the office at all times, so mind yourself because she is always watching. In multiple instances, she's shown footage (with sound) of past employees' behavior as support for her argument. Regardless if they were doing something of her liking or not, this is a complete invasion of privacy and was not disclosed in the employment agreement. The energy in that place is like no other. From the moment you walk through the door, there is no small talk (unless it's her sharing gross details about her personal life), no music, no expression, just silence, and anxiety...for 8 HOURS. The turnover is inconceivable and there will never be a sense of job security due to her mood swings and her holding your salary over your head. She is great at playing on people's dependency on a job as an excuse to mistreat her employees. It's funny that someone who produces such sub-par work has the audacity to call out the flaws in others. As a warning to potential clients, Argon Agency outsources most of its work overseas and uses AI for a majority of copy. This is a makeshift marketing agency that has only come this far due to the owner staying up until 4 AM to meet the bare minimum for her clients. Don't fall into the Argon trap.

This review comes from someone with a lack of understanding and respect for what they were hired to do which is most likely why they are no longer employed here. From the personal attacks against the founder (who is a 27 year old single mother) to the lack of perspective of managerial situations that were shared to prevent in the future .. I’m sure anyone reading could see why this person wasn’t a fit employee. Perhaps if you were less concerned with what YOUR EMPLOYER was wearing, respected rules and did the job you were intended to do for the money you were paid then no one on the team would have to stay up to overcompensate for the poor quality you delivered. Wishing you peace and love.
