A known company in Agtech world with good future but change is needed in management
Pros
The Company has earned a name and recognition in Agtech world and has a promising product. Company has customers all around the word and it is here to stay. Investors have faith in the company as it just raised series C funding so it is well funded at the moment and the new product it is working on is promising. Company provides flexibility and lets you work from home and if you are working on the product, there is a lot of new things to learn as the new generation of the product has some very cool features.
Cons
The compensation package is not great. It is less than what you can get else where but if you want to learn new things, this could be a good place to be in. The company (the Technology group) has a serious culture problem and that arises from how it is run.. Over last three years or so, the work environment has gotten toxic. What once used to be a healthy place for discussions and ideas has turned into a dull place where only one person has the say and that is the top boss in the technology group (CTO). Raising questions or coming up with alternate ideas are not welcome and can actually hurt your career here. So, if you are content with just agreeing and doing what is told, it could be a place for you but may not be for everybody. Startups are all about ideas and innovation. There are other issues as well that are affecting the culture and the team morale but the cause of all those issues is same as mentioned above and hence should be easy to fix. If that is fixed, I think things could fall in place. May be that will happen some day. If you can just ignore all that noise, be tactful, agree with everything, you can do well. As said in the pros section above, there is a lot to learn in this company so being a yes man may be good, if you are that kind of person.
