Pros

Not many. If you like crypto still you might be interested.

Cons

Really too many to list here that wouldn't take me hours to write. The main ones can be categorized into the following: Advancement opportunities Culture Compensation Day to day work Future outlook Advancement opportunities are very limited. The overall org structure is very flat and they are much more likely to hire someone from the outside than to promote from within. This is not really something unique to Anchorage though. Most people who work at startups know that if you are looking career advancement getting a new job is a much easier and more efficient way to do that. Culture is meh to say the least. Company is mostly split between West coast and East coast US, and Portugal. Most new employees are coming from Portugal because how much cheaper they are to hire. They will constantly tell you how open and great their culture is during the interview process but it's really nothing special. There were some complaints recently about the culture and lack of any meaningful discussion and salary increases. The way management handled it was-I shìt you not- making some crappy video for all hands from employees telling you how much they loved working at Anchorage. You will always find people like that were ever you go and its not fair to the people who have meaningful complaints to dismiss them with what is really just propaganda. Compensation is about average for the space. but like I mentioned above there has not been any salary increase or a minor cost of living adjustment since the company was founded as far as I know. considering the rate of inflation at least the founders could pretend they are looking into it for long time employees. As always though just get another job to get a raise. Always the easier route to take. Day to day work: They have some scattered offices but the company is remote first. A lot of great things about remote work but a downside is it definitely slows down things and that's especially apparent at Anchorage. Progress for almost anything moves at a sails pace. Even the most basic features of taken months if not over a year to release. And that is the stripped down first release versions of course. Future outlook is rather grim id say in the short to medium term. Look at the broader crypto market. They are one of the better positioned crypto companies but that's not really saying much. If they crypto winter ever ends and they can weather through it then they would be in a great position tbh.

Just a huge mess

Pros

Many of the people I have met and work with are nice.

Cons

Things are a mess but they call it a startup mentality. As someone who has worked at startups, I can tell you that this is not normal. It is a mess. Lot of tech debt, lot of ignorance, lot of arrogance, little experience, very command and control.
