Pros

Well paid for a grad job.

Cons

Antisocial hours, lack of flexibility with medical needs (does not practice what it preaches with diversity & disability), doesn't support managers who bring ER case, hourly workers are better protected.

Pros

Steady job, do you part and you'll never get fired Team low average age ( <30) You're going to have lots of fun with the team

Cons

Get ready to work nights and weekends, warehouse is open 24/7 If you started as an associate after reaching this level you either get lucky or you'll have to kill someone to grow further Managers average age is low, most of them hired after graduating, lots of people with poor people skills

Pros

Learn a lot about operations and warehouses very fast.

Cons

Every company has metrics that they need to achieve or outperform. The standards at Amazon for their metrics are very high. In a normal work environment, with a good leader, those metrics would be anyone's goal to meet or exceed. At Amazon, those metrics are met only because you do not want to get yelled at on a daily business review by your regional, in front of at least 30 other people. Also, the motivation to meet metrics in Amazon is fueled by systemically tweaking the numbers to make them look good to your superiors. The old saying "If you're not cheating, you're not trying" is incredibly true at Amazon. It's a very selfish environment. No one cares about the customers or the packages, they only care about making sure they look good, even if it is at the expense of other team members. Regional leadership is Toxic and they don't care about their site leads or operations managers.
