Sinking Ship

Pros

Discounted Internet, TV & mobile service. Potential to work from home depending on department.

Cons

This company is a sinking ship. I worked there for three years and the company wouldn't give raises across the board, backfill positions, or promote people because "they could not afford it." I was literally doing three peoples' jobs without a raise for two years because they refused to fill those positions or give raises to anyone. The funny thing is that they would hire senior-level staff from competitor companies such as ATT and fly them into the NY offices on helicopters multiple times a week - because apparently that's a smart and efficient way to do business and save money. These folks from the competitors are bringing all their colleagues over to Altice and laying off employees with several years tenure and great performance, showing absolutely no loyalty to employees who have been with the company for a while or empathy for how they're negatively impacting peoples' lives. I, myself, was laid off three months pregnant and they showed no care whatsoever about how hard it would be for me to navigate finding a new job while now having to watch my toddler because we could no longer afford daycare. The sad thing is, I had just gotten a raise (finally!) and I had above average performance reviews every year. My experience aside, the company doesn't appear to value their employees as they offer benefits such as "maternity leave" but then they only give you whatever vacation time you've accrued + FMLA through the state. So in summary, if you want to be happy with your job, be rewarded for your hard work, and eventually move up - don't come here. You won't be promoted unless you're a buddy from one of the competitor companies who kisses up to the senior-level staff. Also, the stock is down to $2 and has been down for as long as I can remember. No one is happy there and the employee satisfaction surveys are consistently abysmal. Stay away from this place. Worst company I've ever worked for.
