The company is segregated more or less by anatomy and the products that aline with them determine the manager/group you have.
From what I could tell there are some very good managers within various groups; however, things get quite clicky at times since most of these people all came from Nuvasive and everyone has worked together before.
One group has an absolutely terrible director that runs the advanced mechatronics/advanced mech team. This director will flat out lie to your face, lie to upper management about you, and even when things are written down per a schedule, he will accuse you of not doing your job. Basically, he somehow does what he wants and gets away with it because he's a Director. The unfortunate part is he's very good at lying, being a bully and covering up the truth. He will often make requests, like 'don't send those drawings out', but then later claim it's your fault for delaying the project when he was the one who specifically made the request.
It's almost like you need to record every conversation you have with him because what he says will change day to day.
He will throw you under the bus to upper management to save his own skin any chance he gets and I've seen it happen to several employees within his group. He often belittles junior engineers who don't know what they are doing any chance he gets asked makes fun of them, rather than trying to teach or help them. This boss is toxic and should not be managing such an elite group of engineers.
