Pros

Great facilities, great people, good benefits/pay Your experience here will really depend on your manager and their willingness to support you and your individual development plan.

Cons

Alphatec is currently undergoing a lot of changes and is downsizing and cutting costs. There is a lot of pressure on the sales team which is felt by all departments. The atmosphere isn't very positive and everyone is afraid their job is at risk.

Pros

competitive salary back then, good location

Cons

Very high turnover, the management seems to be getting worse always...good people don't last very long (with a few exceptions). Little hope things will get better with this current senior management.

Pros

Great people to work with, the facility is top notch with a gym, outside areas to sit, bocce ball courts and fantastic prototype lab.

Cons

The company is segregated more or less by anatomy and the products that aline with them determine the manager/group you have. From what I could tell there are some very good managers within various groups; however, things get quite clicky at times since most of these people all came from Nuvasive and everyone has worked together before. One group has an absolutely terrible director that runs the advanced mechatronics/advanced mech team. This director will flat out lie to your face, lie to upper management about you, and even when things are written down per a schedule, he will accuse you of not doing your job. Basically, he somehow does what he wants and gets away with it because he's a Director. The unfortunate part is he's very good at lying, being a bully and covering up the truth. He will often make requests, like 'don't send those drawings out', but then later claim it's your fault for delaying the project when he was the one who specifically made the request. It's almost like you need to record every conversation you have with him because what he says will change day to day. He will throw you under the bus to upper management to save his own skin any chance he gets and I've seen it happen to several employees within his group. He often belittles junior engineers who don't know what they are doing any chance he gets asked makes fun of them, rather than trying to teach or help them. This boss is toxic and should not be managing such an elite group of engineers.

Pros

People, benefits, location. Worked with a lot of good people in different departments, easy to get along with. Benefits and salary average.

Cons

Upper management( Directors and CEO) they are not open and honest. They tell you what you want to hear. Promotions are reserved for yes people and favorites. Merit increase is the same. If you know someone in management you can move right on up. Department management do not take their job seriously.

A New ATEC

Pros

In the short time that I’ve been at ATEC the future has never looked brighter. There is a new executive team that brings tons of experience in the spine market to the table. The culture of the company is shifting and morale is as high as ever; it's a fun, fast paced workplace full of good people. The company is lean and working with a start-up mentality, which provides an engaging workplace and a great opportunity to learn and grow.

Cons

There is some risk involved as the company isn’t out of the woods yet. The hand the current executive team was dealt isn’t ideal and there is still work to do throughout to really get the company back on its feet, however, we have our path forward and are well on our way.
