Pros

exposure to cutting edge technologies, fast paced. cool colleagues. usually learning something new. the office environment is great if you like being crammed into a tiny space with 100 people and no real "desk" .

Cons

horrible culture. horrible benefits. HR seems to be working against employees, no real care or concern for anyone other than partners. Senior management and project management is dysfunctional and a joke. no one seems to have a good handle on growth. they would rather hire than promote. high turnover of staff, constantly hearing of people trying / wanting to leave, very low moral. no career path. pay and bonus structure is a joke. Overall a loud obnoxious unprofessional environment.

Pros

You can SEE various technology but you won't have time to touch them. Many co-workers are professional and there are some experts in the field. Fast paced environment with new projects rolling constantly.

Cons

I can only speak for NOC as that's where I worked. -They lowball your salary and assign you endless tasks. -There's no training for NOC members. You are not going to learn much as a NOC engineer, you are merely human being doing jobs that is supposed to be done by machines. ( acknowledge alerts, create tickets then follow up ) -Bonus is given out 50% in March and the other 50% in June, that is to say at any point you leave the company you lose 50% of your bonus. The amount is also miserable compare to the workload you are assigned. -People come and go ( saw a guy gave up in 3 days ) every month and there is a reason why. Advice : unless you are extremely novice and need an exposure to various technology so you can TALK about it ( but not master it ) maybe it can help you land on the next job, DONT EVEN TRY !
