Pros

It’s in a good location in FiDi.

Cons

Working at Align was the worst decision I’ve ever made in my professional career. The positive reviews are a sad attempt to mislead new talent, the fact that they’re all somewhat recent is suspicious. When I first came onboard (in 2021), the negative reviews on this site really concerned me. At the time their rating was a 2.5. Now looking at their almost 5 stars is comical because it’s definitely fake. I am embarrassed to have worked there. Here are the cons I witnessed: - overwhelming amount of work, so you are forced to work overtime but discouraged from putting in OT hours unless you are a billable employee. - toxic culture. Bullying is rewarded. Asking questions is frowned upon. - horrible CEO. He is an unapproachable man who verbally embarrasses employees in meetings and via email. I wouldn’t be surprised if someone takes legal actions against him, it is really that bad. He has made numerous employees cry during the short time I was there. - there are literally no perks except pizza in the office when some of the higher management decides to come in. - you must report to the office. They have a “hybrid” schedule but it is basically 4 days in the office. Even during covid outbreaks. - not only do you have to report to the office but you must be there at 8:30am sharp and dressed professionally. Some people are allowed to dress down but only the bosses favorites, which I found really bizarre. In this day and age most other companies encourage a business casual attire but not align. - it’s the quintessential boys club. Cigars in the conference room and locker room talk. - terrible pto policy. Please take it from me and listen to these reviews, don’t make the same mistake I did.

Worst people I have ever met

Pros

None, I'm serious the positive comments are all fake and put up their by Align's marketing team.

Cons

They don't train you in any way. You come in the door with NO guidance and you are expected to navigate through pods of people and none of them work together. There is no room for advancement. They will belittle you every chance they get. No one is happy and everyone thinks that they will be next to be fired. Revolving door doesn't even scratch the service as to the culture here. You will not last long. The company is filled with "yes men" that will lie to your face. They have no morals and or professional respect for anyone. I worked for Align for a little over 2 years and I dreaded going to work every day. The day I quit was one of the happiest days of my life. You will work for the sole purpose of making the CEO richer as he doesn't care about you. He only cares about getting richer off of your hard work.

The worst decision I had ever made in my adult lifetime

Pros

1) Working on Wall street was a nice experience albeit I worked primarily in the NJ office. 2) Pay was decent 3) Interview process actually made me think they knew what they were doing

Cons

1) They didn't know what they were doing 2) Micromanagement 3) Everyone that is hired there is currently looking for another job 4) Boys club/old school policies 5) Work from home? Not a thing 6) The people I reported to were the absolute worst. Privacy isn't a thing, managers wanted my cell phone (and I was a salaried worker...not contract or anything on "the job") 7) Zero space from management; meaning they are in your face big time 8) Company looks like it's growing from their hiring page...no, it's actually because they let go/people left. The place is a revolving door. 9) Backend system is SharePoint and Excel sheets which is fine until you realize it's a sales organization and everything is half baked on there 10) Did I mention the people are terrible? 11) Going into this, the company claimed they were one of the "Happiest companies" ... I really have to disagree with that. 12) Check out their LinkedIn, they seem like they know what they're doing...right....right?? No. They don't. 13) They merge days off and vacation days. Not a good idea. 14) Technology is archaic 15) Really the worst experience I've ever had. If you're looking for a job, do yourself a solid and walk away. Don't talk yourself into it. Don't keep going through the interview process. Just turn around. X their email/website off your browser. This is the place of nightmares.

Align Communications Response

Thank you for submitting your feedback regarding your time spent at Align. We are committed to creating a comfortable, transparent, and collaborative environment for our employees, so I am disappointed to hear about your experiences. It is not clear when you were with our organization, but we are happy to share that we have implemented new systems and tools within the past 2 years that are helping to automate and transform our organization. In regards to your comment about PTO - the decision to merge vacation and sick days was made after receiving feedback from employees. Align professionals feel this system is competitive and allows for flexibility on how to use those PTO days. In closing, the average Aligner has been with the firm for 6 years. We find this stat reflects positively on our culture and investments in our professionals. We wish you best in your professional endeavors.
