Pros
Aging Matters has a mission to help seniors age in place by providing phenomenal services. The majority of the current staff loves their clients and strives to be helpful and caring.
Cons
In the past 4 plus years, I have witnessed our administration lose touch with what is important and focus on donations and image instead of our seniors. The main office building recently went through a very unnecessary remodel. How do fancy tile floors help our community? The staff is asked to not bring any photos or items from home. We are discouraged from fraternizing with our colleagues and we are daily micromanaged without rhyme or reason. Thank you's are few and far between and fear is used to keep everyone in line. Compared to other similar jobs, the staff is underpaid and you are made to feel dispensable. Turn around there is so high, those of us who have been there a while don't even bother remembering the new employees names. There is practically a new person introduced each week. We do not get trained in all the agency has to offer but just your job making us uninformed when asked by clients. We don't have staff meetings for all and just the few program directors allowed to talk to our administration staff. There is a chain of command sheet we have to follow which makes people feel alienated.
