      Disconnected with reality.

      Pros

      As a startup I got to do a ton of different things, and was learning a lot. Worked with a lot of smart people.

      Cons

      The true vision of the software was never fully understood and a lot of work was done over and over just because the management didn't know what they wanted. They removed the one product that was profitable to us, and had the ability to actually make a difference by giving back.

      Pros

      Affectiva set out to understand human emotion long before any others. Years later, Affectiva is the leader in this space that is growing and continuing to push the technology, define the market and set it sights on it's original vision: to emotion enable the world. We have the market interest, we have a plan, now it's an exciting time to work together and execute. Flexible work hours, great people and now with a true visionary leading the company. Lots of growth potential as there are many opportunities to stand out and those who raise their hand are recognized.

      Cons

      Small company with a technology that has broad reach. Being able to address all the potential partnerships has lots of people wearing many hats.

      Challenging technology, interesting company

      Pros

      The technical challenges are exciting. Creating the ecosystem, SaaS platform and machine learning provides a respectable set of challenges. Founders provided a clear vision in how the technology could be used to do good in the world and build a profitable business.

      Cons

      Not the highest paying company. Development team is built with many members who have worked together in the past creating something of a clique. Sometimes there is too much complaining among the rank and file about executive staff decisions. Company seems to have lost sight of the original vision of doing good and giving back to the community.
