Pros

I spent 5 mins thinking about pros, and only came up with: The office location is next to bars, where you can go after work and cry.

Cons

Oh the stories I can tell. But mainly its the management that will ultimately drives you out. This is a dead end place, with no strong creative leadership innovating you or cheer you on. My opinion on the commenter who titled "the whiners are short timers" -- This is a clear comment from management trying to get their score rating up. Instead of calling employees whiners, maybe they should take some time to show that they care about their wellbeing? just a thought! Dont let the fancy office fool you, or all the old awards. Most of which were won by creative people who have long been gone.

Pros

Cons

It's been over two years since I worked at Adcetera. I've been with one another agency since I left, two years ago. One with a healthy and positive environment to work in. I now realized how toxic and terrible Adcetera was. The owners treat you like slaves. Upfront, they pretend to be something they're not. They promise you things that don't happen and hover over you like you don't deserve a life or recognition. They treat their employees with complete disrespect. There are too many other places out there with positive work life balance and benefits that will exceed Adcetera and boost your career. I'm living proof, not a whiner or loser as they will call you! Their mentality is to bully and call people names. Unfortunately, this will never change as the owners, a married couple, are to blame with cameras watching your every move. Take my advice and find a positive environment where there is room for career growth and recognition of your hard work. Flipping hamburgers at McDonald's would be a better option than working at Adcetera.

Thank you for your feedback. Advice to our management team is not pointless, as we continuously look for ways to improve and grow. I wish you would have addressed these concerns with your manager while you worked here. At Adcetera, we believe in direct communication and address concerns and needs as they arise. As a company we recognize employees for hard work and dedication on a monthly and annual basis (Team of Distinction). Also, last year, 98% of our employees were given an annual review and a raise. We offer career growth for those who are devoted to our company and our clients.

Either drink the Kool Aid or you'll drown in it

Pros

Both locations are great – Midtown Houston & The Woodlands. There are plenty of great people here, and you'll probably make some good friends. Plenty of places to eat and drink within walking distance around the office. The health insurance isn't horrible, and it's 100% covered by the company. There are a few events held throughout the year that are fun (until people start getting wasted). You'll get the opportunity to work with some major tech brands that'll make your resume look great!

Cons

Get ready to fight for position! Those that have been there for years aren't the most welcoming of newcomers – you'll have to prove yourself worthy before you can be trusted to handle anything more than busywork. The workflow is a nightmare – everything is handled via 70+ emails (not exaggerating) per day, PDFs, and mountains of paper printouts. With no real project management system, you'll have several projects fall through the cracks. The best part is – they're in no hurry to change, so don't bother suggesting. If you don't hop on board with their antiquated processes, you'll quickly drown.

Thank you for your feedback. At Adcetera, we work really hard to welcome all new employees. We have a welcome lunch with our President and COO for all new employees, we have excellent training processes across departments, and as each new employee is familiarized with our clients, work, and processes, they are given opportunities to excel. Adcetera does have an excellent project management system and CRM used by over 3,000 agencies and Fortune 500 marketing departments. As with most companies, there are a lot of emails and printouts, but communication and details are very important to the way we operate. Where the national average of paid time off for employees of 1-5 years is 10 days, we have a generous paid time off policy of 20-25 days depending on tenure. While these days are used for any reason employees are out of the office, we find this model to be the best for our employees. At Adcetera we are open to suggestions and welcome specific, direct feedback on a one-to-one basis, and since you are a current employee you know our door is always open. We absolutely are open to new ideas; collaboration is what helps us succeed.
