A few weeks ago 3 of the members of our leadership team quit, and I'm assuming it's because it's impossible to work with the founders, who remain on the leadership team as CEO and CMO. People in the company do not respect them. Ask any employee in any team and they'll tell you stories: the CEO is running off and overpromising things to potential clients that are outright impossible to deliver on, he doesn't show up to important planning sessions so the product team has no idea what to implement, he doesn't bother to talk to the people running business development and so the company makes no money, he allows rampant nepotism, he doesn't care about culture or motivating his employees, he's always MIA, he doesn't bother to keep himself up to speed on important events.
Employees have very little faith in the leadership's ability to think long-term or strategically. They are asleep at the wheel, and therefore some of the imcompetent people under them also go off and make huge blunders (like hiring 20-30 people in a month, only to fire them). The CEO will wave around his hands and say emotional words, but he has no idea how to actually execute anything on an operational/product level. All of this is completely unacceptable and creates the most disfunctional work environment I have witnessed in my career.
