Pros

A growing company with diverse teams that work together to advance a unique, global car rental brand. As an independent, evolving company, there is a level of independence and creative freedom at ACE that you don’t normally have with large corporate companies. The company hosts several employee outings throughout the year, provides a weekly catered lunch and wellness period, and has a hybrid remote/in-office schedule. The office has an environment that promotes camaraderie and collaboration. Management has an open door policy and will help employees develop their professional goals to the best of the companies abilities. The office itself is in an up-and-coming area downtown near several local restaurants and coffee shops. TL;DR: Cool people, area, and opportunities.

Cons

Since ACE is a fast-paced, developing company, you need to be able to adapt quickly to change. The company has improved the internal communication between departments but still has its struggles. At times, this can cause moments of operational dysfunction.

Pros

-If properly motivated you will be given an opportunity to learn about the industry and grow with this company. -Most managers and director-level employees have been elevated from junior positions within the company. -The work is interesting and challenging because the software products are constantly evolving. -Continued education and skill-building are encouraged and fostered. -Forgiving in terms of mistakes, seen as an opportunity to learn and get better.

Cons

-Sometimes work follows you home though more often than not, this is a consequence of responsibility.

Pros

*On Wednesday you get free lunch *Experience for the resume *A wide array of projects to take on which can help build your skill set rapidly *The other developers are great and the team dynamic can be great when allowed to interact.

Cons

*Micromanagement from the president *Frequently have to fix issues caused in the application by said president *Some of the managers have the tendency to punch down on others when they get punched down on by the president. *Communication is incredibly poor. Both professionally and interpersonally. *Pay is incredibly low compared to industry standard. *Unwritten policies are common practice and you will be punished, either by shame or punitive action, for situations that are not part of the outlined policies in the employee handbook. *There is no HR department and as a result things are said, situations are mishandled, and threats are made. *The environment can be very damaging to your mental health. High stress, high conflict, you don’t ever really know when it’s safe to speak your mind or when you’ll get yelled at for it, and you feel like you’re constantly being watched.
