Pros

Co-workers were great as well as my supervisor. Relaxed atmosphere, good benefit package.

Cons

Very difficult to obtain answers for customers. Very long lead times = very disgruntled customers. Always waiting for the next RIF to come around.

In a painful downturn

Pros

Interesting computer technology challenges for EEs and SW folks who like to work close to the copper. Despite some hardships, employees generally get along well and help each other.

Cons

Company was acquired from GE two years ago, in a highly-leveraged buy-out, and is now struggling under the burden of that debt. The situation worsened by planned "improvements" by new management, e.g. replacing organically-evolved tools and workflows with modern equivalents which don't (yet) work as well.

Pros

Cutting Edge technologies Most individuals are nice Nice office environment to work in, the tools you need to complete your job can be gathered easily with very little paper work.

Cons

No Graduate program, it's just a graduate pay rise, NOTHING ELSE! Managers have no idea what their team is doing. Project Managers don't have a basic understanding of the projects they are managing and rely on lead engineers to manage the day to day running of the business. For the work you do, you are very underpaid. They don't have a clear defined structure for how individuals can move up the ladder, they'll try to bs people and say they do but ask for the paper work and you'll see they don't when they can't produce any. No overtime pay Meetings, meetings and meetings. Everything here needs to have a meeting, you can spend 50% of your time in meetings. A project has never been delivered on time! Redundancies come every 4 years, so be mindful of that. If the company misses 2 quarterly targets, their is a very high chance of redundancies
