Pros

Great people to work with and awesome benefits (pto, medical dental, vision, and PTO

Cons

Stressful work environment, pay is not related to job expectations. They make you feel like you will move up in the company but realistically you won't. They add titles to you like senior agent but still get paid like 60 cents more as other agents.

Constant, disruptive change

Pros

Some incredibly dedicated and talented employees, opportunities to work in a very global arena with coworkers of all backgrounds. Substantial PTO. Opportunities to explore different areas within the company if you have the right connections.

Cons

Efficiency is the name of the game at AXA Assistance. Entire teams/departments offshored, numerous positions eliminated, new hires brought on to be dismissed months later. Constant, disruptive change is the norm here. Large-scale downsizing never seems to end. Wages well-below what the market suggests. A market study was conducted to expose huge gaps between market average and AXA's pay scale. The study was supposed to be a great leap forward in employer/employee transparency, but was later swept under the rug.

Pros

- Fun, diverse, international colleagues, most of whom have a great sense of humor and many of whom are closet creatives - 4 weeks of PTO per year when you start - Convenient location with a chance of being able to see Lake Michigan from your office window

Cons

- You are dealing with customers who are sick, hurt, or otherwise having problems. These people, by nature, will get emotional, and will blame you for everything. It is not fun to deal with this day in and day out for a long time. - You could end up with a great boss or an awful one, it's just the luck of the draw. - Turnover is very high. A lot of people do not make it past 90 days. - Some workers are very clearly treated with more respect than others. This company knows how to push you exactly as far as they can get away with, so learn the art of pushing back appropriately. - Understaffing is a constant issue and your workload and stress levels WILL be high, so you will need those 4 weeks of PTO. - Promotion opportunities do exist, but they may or may not be the kind of positions you'll actually want to apply for. I am told work-life balance goes out the window if you ever become salaried. - If you are used to working with good technology, you will spend most of your time angry. - You'll get fat.

Pros

You work in a team and have the opportunity to make friends and meet new people easily. PTO is pretty good and supervisors are often accommodating to schedule requests.

Cons

Salary is too low. Minimal to no yearly increases. Minimal to no room for advancement. Poor office culture. Stressful work environment. You're not paid more for working harder/better or for extra skills you bring to the team, like languages.

Pros

Company looks great on a resume.

Cons

Once you worked at AXA Assistance, any other company will seem like a "piece of cake". At AXA, you will learn to work with one of the most hard headed, unprofessional and egocentric bosses who lack the traits of leadership. When in need of personnel, AXA Assistance will first sell you the opportunities for development and growth with fantastic employee benefits. But the reality is that the company has been outsourcing positions and entire departments which leave minimal opportunities for growth and the employee benefits are good, but once you add dependents, it is next to impossible to afford for the call agents and including at a supervisor's salary. Work balance life is none existing. AXA Assistance will suck any personal time out of your life despite offering a 20 day PTO which is very difficult to schedule due to the work load and management (at all levels) will be expected to answer calls and emails even during their time off.
