Pros

Good Benefits, decent pay and some departments have great people working for them just like any other company.

Cons

If you have no idea what you are doing, have poor communication skills, are just plain weird and would like to advance into a position you really aren't qualified for, then this is the company for you!! Oddly enough all the good employees seem to loose their jobs and all the crazies stay. Lol. It is the strangest thing I've ever seen. Any ways it is just a job. One day I will leave. Or I guess get fired or laid off if I truly am any good.

Pros

Where do I start. I am a proud Albertan and have worked with the company for over 20 years. I have always been proud to work for ATCO, proud to be part of a family. I have always ignored the fact that execs get massive bonuses and are short sighted with their decisions. My family has relied on ATCO for many years to put food on our table. November was one of the worst months on my life. Hundreds of co-workers were let go and I fear our leaders just saw line items on spreadsheets. In fact, that's all they saw. Decisions made in offices with fireplaces isn't always good out in the field to us who support the core business of what ATCO does well. Many good people were let go in November where other Utilities hired. All executive STILL got bonuses and raises and employees received nothing. We were told this week that what happened in November was actually our fault. It would seem that ATCO has lost touch of what modern day leadership is all about. No longer does a leader sit in the penthouse and collect copious amounts of money. No longer does a business try to redefine itself over and over again, rather than focusing on core customer services. Do leaders really deserve millions upon millions of salary and stocks when they lay of 15% of their talent. I am sorry but ATCO is not what it was.....This business is only about making money and TSX value.

Cons

See above please my comments about the ATCO.
