Pros

Most of the people are genuinely nice and pleasant to deal with, save for a few weirdos and unprofessional managers.

Cons

Lying, backstabbing, and unprofessional management. Worthless HR who sides with said management. Preaches a culture of accountability, but really promotes a culture of fingerpointing and throwing people under the bus. As a whole, the organization is deathly afraid of change. Hands down, the worst experience of my career. Stay far away.

Pros

Nice downtown location close to the riverwalk. Relaxed, low-pressure work environment. Some super coworkers and the members are decent too. Good opportunity to learn about quality processes and projects, which can be beneficial for your post-ASQ career. If you are in the right department, you may have the opportunity to work on cross-functional teams to learn new things and meet people outside your department.

Cons

A lot of the other reviews hit the nail on the head. ASQ does NOT practice what they preach. Constant "transformation" aka reorg with no long-term plan and very little communication. ASQ promotes many quality and change tools to its members but uses almost none to navigate its own "transformation." Overall, weak leadership. Few managers have quality certifications beyond a CQIA. Little mentoring from managers to their direct reports. If you get a certification, don't expect to get promoted or use it at ASQ. Getting them to pay for a test they administer and is supposed to be free to employee can be extremely difficult. Lots of turning a blind eye to people running their side hustles during work time using ASQ resources. It's the worst kept secret.
