Management clueless at best, exploitive at worst

Pros

Working among and for nurses is rewarding, and the organization's mission is admirable. Staff members are giving, caring, and committed. Office location in downtown SS is close to metro, restaurants, shops, and fab new library. Beautiful office; excellent benefits. It is a union shop--which is invaluable, given the rampant management-labor issues.

Cons

Top managers overload staff without regard to actual resources or consequences. Little or no strategic planning, and a serious lack of transparency. High turnover, due to management making staffing and workload changes without warning and imposing unreasonable deadlines. There is rampant exploitation of staff by management.

new senior leadership, not sure how it will pan out

Pros

Tele-working at least one day a week; most in the organization want to do the right thing. Good work-life balance.

Cons

organization is part of a union -required to be member if below the leadership level. Senior/executive leadership pays good lip-service to wanting to do the right thing, but they do not want to hear other ideas
