Pros

- Big name clients - Some really bright & lovely peers - Transparency from CEO & COO on agency updates

Cons

Things that have always been an issues have got worse and worse over the past couple of years. - Toxic work environment - Have witnessed & been on the receiving end of bullying. - Severe lack of diversity. Often diverse hires at junior levels but the turnover is high. Have witnessed racism, homophobia and transphobia that isn't even given a slap on the wrist. Racism & classism especially rife. - No work life balance. Have been working 60+ hour weeks for over a year as standard. Expected to go above and beyond with no recognition, no pay rises, and no thanks. - No care for peoples mental health , even if you flag the issues of workload on your mental health you won't be met with any sympathy or given any support. At worst you will be told to deal with it or leave. People all across the business clearly burnt out and on the edge of mental health crisis. - Unrealistic deadlines - After flagging that you are drowning you will likely be sent 5x more things that you need to complete within less than 24 hours. Escalation common quickly if you can't find time for tasks (especially with commercial/finance, where you will be chased down by the CFO herself) - Often spoken to in ways that aren't acceptable for the workplace. - Expected to perform against the level above for 1-2 years before even being considered for promotions. - Benefits have slowly been stripped back.

Pros

The jobs are sought-after. You meet lots of talented and creative contacts. The offices are very sophisticated and grand.

Cons

My team were so up themselves and would regularly show off in front of one-another with conduct I considered petty and underhand. Behaviour I felt alluded to bullying and slander (traits that would ordinarily be escalated to a tribunal in many workplaces) appear to be rife and seen as the norm at AMV BBDO; these qualities were just a few of things I experienced from many during my brief stint at the London advertising firm. If your face doesn’t fit your cliquey colleagues will make sure you know you know about it. I have never felt so singled out and violated since being in school but thankfully it made me appreciate my current workplace. What I thought would be an exciting insight into the world of advertising and creative excellence turned out to be a sad and stark reminder that in this day and age diversity and inclusion isn’t something that is embedded into the ethos of every workplace. If you value your pride and like to treat all walks of life with fairness and respect please avoid working here.

Pros

Some people are nice and so it makes the experience better.

Cons

The salary is ridiculous for the amount of work that they are asking you to do. Be prepared to burn out as many take mental health leave. Opportunities reserved for a select few people.
