Pros

Technical Peope were very sharp on projects I was on.

Cons

CEO of company is too willing to bow to the pressures of the dishonest Defense Machine. Personally, a defense contractor put pressure on CEO to cut me lose and did dishonest stuff to block employment with clearance and CEO , Mark Albin bowed to it. Companies that are willing to do dishonest stuff to appease dishonest contract managment are destined to have the reviews for this company.

Though we are not privy to your specific employment details since these are anonymous employee reviews, we can ensure the following: 1. We will never do anything dishonest, ever. Never have and never will. We have Gov’t audits almost each year, so we live up to the highest standards in the Industry (and we can back that up! Ask me in-person, any time). 2. We submit candidates to our clients for their review and selection. At all times, from the interview to the employment stages, both the candidates and the clients can freely decide to end the process. 3. We have a lot of incentives to quickly find the right candidates for our clients, including financial. As part of employee and client satisfaction, we do what we can to keep our employees working well with our clients. There is a lot of time invested by all, so this is important for all involved. When we hear of problems, we try our hardest to try to resolve them. On occasion, when a client asks us to remove or replace one of our consultants working with them (for any reason), they don’t want issues to arise, so they request we give generic reasons for the change. It makes for a smoother transition in their environment. This is important in larger companies for sure. I am sure everyone can appreciate this one. 4. Looking through our records, we find that less than ½ of 1% of our employees are released early. Most stay through the completion, and frequently, their time at the clients is extended.

Pros

The people are nice and really want to do good work.

Cons

The CEO has a reputation of making a lot of promises and painting an optimistic outlook, but he leaves a lot of disgruntled employees in his wake. I would not recommend my worst enemy to work here. Just do a search of ex-AESI employees. See how much talent has gone through his doors and left. Avoid this place at all costs. ANY staffing agency is better than this.

I appreciate your honesty, and I am sorry to hear you did not have a positive experience. When we interview people for the position you held, i.e. Account Manager, we tell the candidates that we are looking for “hunters”, i.e., individuals who can prospect for and find new clients. We tell them they will be building their own portfolio of clients, their own book of business, and if they succeed, they will have a great career in this industry. This is a “people person” industry – those who love helping others, do very well; those who don’t, not so well. Those Account Managers who “sell” themselves - “Oh, I can do that”, just to get a large base salary - quickly find out if they are a good fit in this industry, or not. In my experience, when things don’t go well for them as Account Managers, they tend to blame their manager, which is me. But most know that “hunters” control their own destiny. This Industry is an awesome Industry, but it’s not for everyone (everyone in the Industry knows that). Again, I am sorry things didn’t work out. It always hurts me too, deep inside, when things don’t work out. We are small tight-knit group. We become like family here at Albin Engineering. So this is my family, and it’s a super rewarding industry, for the right folks. It brings me great joy when things do work out; we have tons of those too! Over the last 25 years in business. We must be doing something right :-)

Pros

Good benefits, close to market rate compensation

Cons

Upper management related issues - CEO is hot and cold and it makes for a hostile working environment. When things are going well, you will get treated well but if the company goes through a downturn, watch out! Major revolving door here.

Thank you for your feedback. Obviously, when we are doing well, everyone feels better, and folks are happier. When there is a downturn, things tend to tighten up, so yeah, there are going to be changes that don’t sit well with everyone, and Management gets more involved. In 25 years we have experienced some serious down-turns, but we are still here, and with strong growth plans! With each downturn, we have tried to learn from the prior ones. And the economy is looking good these days. So we are very optimistic!
