Pros

Free food, parking, that’s all.

Cons

I feel compelled to express my deep concerns about the issues that have made this an increasingly difficult place to work. The management’s decision-making is often erratic and unclear, leaving staff in a constant state of confusion and uncertainty. This lack of direction has severely impacted morale and the ability to carry out our responsibilities effectively. There is virtually no room for career growth. Hardworking and qualified staff members are frequently passed over for promotions in favor of individuals who engage in boot-licking and favoritism. The culture of nepotism is palpable, making it demotivating for those who hope to advance based on merit. Adding to the frustration, instead of investing in meaningful professional development, internal training sessions are often led by individuals who lack the necessary qualifications. These sessions provide little value and often feel like a waste of time. Another major issue is the scheduling of mandatory meetings and training sessions outside of regular working hours—often after school and even on weekends. This lack of respect for staff’s personal time is unacceptable and further contributes to the toxic work environment. Rather than fostering a supportive and collaborative culture, the focus seems to be on overloading staff without consideration for their well-being. Good luck to those who are considering to join. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. Overall, the combination of poor leadership, lack of career progression, and a disregard for staff’s time and professional development has created an unhealthy and unsustainable work environment. Will I consider to rejoin? Thank you next.

A.C.E. – Avoid. Comply. Escape.

Pros

1) Your colleagues—those in the trenches with you—are often the only source of sanity and support. 2) You’ll learn how to manage unrealistic expectations, constant pivots, and leadership inconsistency—a survival skill for future jobs. 3) Free lunch. Yes, really. It’s one of the few tangible “benefits” in an otherwise thankless system. 4) Great if you want a real-time case study in dysfunctional leadership, unchecked nepotism, and organizational gaslighting.

Cons

Let’s cut the fluff: This company thrives on fear, favoritism, and façade. What you see on the outside—loud branding, cheerful videos, catchy phrases like “ACE DNA”—is a highly curated illusion designed to mask the internal rot. The glowing Glassdoor reviews? Planted. Anyone who’s actually worked here long enough knows it. If you want a job where your expertise is respected, your mental health protected, and your contributions measured fairly—run. 1) Leadership by Lineage, Not Logic ACE doesn’t operate like a professional organization. It’s a family-run fiefdom, where last names matter more than experience, and authority is inherited, not earned. Senior leadership roles are occupied by close relatives of the founder, many of whom lack the qualifications, experience, or accountability expected of their titles. Their mistakes become your cleanup job. Trying to introduce structure, KPIs, or basic governance is seen as “too corporate” and “not part of our DNA.” Translation? They don’t want systems—they want submission. 2) Independent Thinking Not Welcome You’re hired to solve problems—but the moment you challenge anything, you’re labeled “negative,” “not aligned,” or worse, actively sidelined. Decisions are made behind closed doors and then handed down like commandments. Question them and you're met with passive-aggressive pushback or stone-cold silence. Emails are ignored. Memos are dismissed. Verbal instructions rule, which gives leadership infinite wiggle room to deny, revise, and shift blame as needed. 3) Constant Firefighting, Zero Strategy Every week brings a new "pivot" or project, often based on someone’s gut feeling or ego trip rather than data or consultation. Teams are stretched thin executing half-baked ideas with impossible timelines, only to be blamed when results don't magically appear. Projects fail because they were poorly conceived or lacked resources—but the blame is always redirected downward. No post-mortems. No accountability. Just gaslighting and denial. 4) Fake Reviews, Real Burnout The handful of 3–5 star reviews? They read like press releases—and for good reason. Staff have witnessed leadership encourage or directly instruct positive reviews to offset the company’s declining rating. It's not just misleading, it's manipulative. Meanwhile, the real experiences—burnout, micromanagement, verbal reprimands in front of others, hostile work environments—are swept under the rug. 5) High Turnover, Low Morale People don’t just leave. They flee. Talented staff burn out or become disillusioned within months. Internal departments operate on fear and confusion. There's no upward mobility unless you’re in the founder’s inner circle. Even then, accountability is optional. HR is either powerless or complicit. Reports and complaints vanish into thin air, and problematic behavior is protected rather than addressed—especially if it’s coming from the “family.” 6) Zero Transparency Financial decisions are opaque. Funds are diverted into vanity projects and external ventures that serve the leadership’s personal interests more than the school’s actual needs. Budgeting is reactionary, not strategic. There’s no clarity on where money goes, but plenty of rumors. Final Verdict: If you're thinking of working here: Avoid. Comply (if you must). Escape (as soon as you can). You’ll thank yourself later.

A noble cause gone horribly south

Pros

Academic staff body is made up of dedicated, passionate and professional individuals who truly want to make a difference in education for the younger generation. A mainly close-knit group that not only cares for the welfare of students but staff welfare as well. Support, learning and aid from all levels of staff from heads of department down is consistent and unquestioned.

Cons

What started as a genuine noble cause: that of making a difference in education through innovation and fostering development of student personalities in addition to real life skills needed for the ever changing working world, has currently dissolved into a corporate nightmare, where safety, welfare and morale of staff are constantly trampled on as the company seeks to continue to stay economically relevant in a competitive education market. Among some of the contributors to this dangerously toxic environment include: - Horrible salary policies that are not clearly defined and lead to poor salary growth. No annual bonuses are given as it is not a provision made in the company's policy and increments are few and far between and based on vague policies relating to time of service and performance quality. New incoming teachers are paid far below the minimum rate for a company of its reputation and are made to work just as hard as veteran teaching staff. - Promotions within the company are highly affected by nepotism. Close friends or family of upper management get promotions to positions of management easily despite repeated evidence of incompetence on their part. Other staff members who have demonstrated loyalty, dedication and most importantly, competence are often pushed aside. This also extends to hiring of new staff members who are often considered and hired through word of mouth. Some are appointed immediately to positions of authority upon hiring just because of their loyalty and friendships with management from previous job experiences, despite highly questionable and suspicious practices and decision making. - Founders and management are highly ambitious and always looking for opportunities to expand and launch new schools and programs often without concrete planning and support. Those in charge of such expansion projects are often blamed when plans do not come to fruition. - What started off as a fantastically established work environment and culture, where staff members could feel part of a well supported and honored family has devolved into a nightmare as the founders and management have become increasingly disconnected from the realities and struggles of their staff. Staff are made to take on more work responsibilities without monetary compensation at the very least and are blamed when things do not turn out as they should or when standards set by the company are not met. Staff members are also the first to be blamed and even censured with stiff punishments the instant any complaints or concerns are raised by students or parents, all which are done with minimal investigation and biased decision making on the part of management. This increase in unethical practices and workplace harassment has resulted in many resignations and those who still work there do so in fear and with massively decreased morale.
