Pros

Constantly evolving, in a positive way. Pay and benefits are reviewed reasonably regularly and seem to be competitive compared with other agencies. Some benefits are better than others - personally, I really like the discounted travel. Private healthcare was added last year too and is really comprehensive. Management are very open with how the business is performing. For example, during the pandemic, we were all kept informed about the good and the bad, which gave me a lot of confidence in the leadership. The business did well during the pandemic and is growing consistently now too. Has adapted well to the post-pandemic working world - flexible working with the option of hot desking or a dedicated desk. Office is pretty incredible - very central, with views of Edinburgh castle. Agency is very well known in the travel and hospitality industry (and has some amazing clients) so if you have a passion for this industry - it's a fantastic place to work.

Cons

You are expected to set and manage your own workload to a degree (although this does seem to vary by department) - but personally I enjoy having the autonomy. In a similar vein, there is some reliance on self-directed learning, although quite a lot of training is available and they are putting more structure around learning and development. Role progression isn't always as clearly mapped out as it could be (and does seem to vary by department), but again I know there's work being done on this too.

Pros

- Flexibility in working hours

Cons

- Poor salary for level of work expected - 3rd hand laptops - Employees are passive aggressive and bullying - Harassment Joined 80 Days promised the absolute world about company culture and the team. After 4 weeks none of this was true. One of the most horrific places to work. The “culture” is not worth the paper it’s written on. Very high staff turnover due to unrealistic deadlines set by some account managers who are incompetent with managing clients expectations. Within the digital team there are selected individuals who lead a private group who go out of their way to make people feel awful on a daily basis being passive aggressive/bullying anyone who has a question is made to feel stupid. Unless you go to private school you are not included in the clique within the team. When I joined there was a mass exodus of people, quickly realised why - overworked, stressed, bullied and undervalued. Witnessed daily how selected members of the team pass on all their work to junior team members who are not supported in the slightest or trained. Everyone is stressed apart from selected team members who get away with their behaviour. People are having panic attacks daily with the stress and crying in toilets. When complaints are made they are swept under the carpet and the person who brings it up is gaslighted and the individuals who cause these problems are promoted. Avoid! At all costs there are much better places to work where you will be treated with respect.

This is disappointing to read; we do strive to have an inclusive and supportive culture. This employee struggled in their time at 80 DAYS and did raised these concerns. We treated their allegations seriously and undertook an investigation, but found that they were not representative of the culture and behaviour across our team. A recent team survey showed 90% of those that work at 80 DAYS cited ‘the people they work with’ as the top thing they like about working here. We respect our team and they respect each other, and this review does not truly reflect the working environment at 80 DAYS.

Pros

If you're looking to gain basic experience, this could be the place for you.

Cons

The management is outdated, resistant to change, and the culture is toxic and gossip-heavy. There's little support, and concerns are often dismissed or downplayed. P.S. After every honest, negative review — which often mirrors my own experience — a glowing 5-star review from a “current employee” seems to appear shortly after. It’s suspicious, to say the least. In my time there, no one ever mentioned leaving positive reviews while still employed. Please stop trying to cover up the real issues — it’s not fooling anyone.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are genuinely sorry to read that your time with 80 DAYS did not meet your expectations. We pride ourselves on fostering a positive, supportive, and high-performing work environment. This commitment to our team of 65 was recently validated when we were awarded the ‘We invest in people, gold accreditation’ by Investors in People in February 2024. This prestigious award is a direct result of anonymous feedback from our current team and a thorough external assessment of our leadership, support structures, and culture. We believe this provides a well-rounded and accurate view of our workplace. Your comment regarding staff turnover is contrary to our records, which show a rate of 7.8%. We have a strong history of retaining and developing our talent, and we are proud that many of our team members have been with us for over five and even ten years. We consistently fill senior roles through internal promotions, which we feel is a testament to the opportunities for growth here. While we cannot discuss the confidential details of an individual's employment, we can confirm that our management processes are designed to give every employee the support and tools they need to succeed. When performance issues are identified, we implement a structured plan with clear, achievable objectives and regular, supportive check-ins. Our goal is always to help our team members get back on track and thrive in their roles. We encourage all employees, past and present, to share their honest perspectives on platforms like Glassdoor. Our team is proud of the culture we have built together, and we are grateful when they choose to share that positive view publicly. We take all feedback seriously as part of our commitment to continuous improvement. We wish you the very best in your future endeavours.
