Pros

Willing to pay employees via Payoneer.

1) They will wait until you have gone through their 2 week training program to present you with the contract, because low and behold, they are hiding things in their contract. You will be promised something in the $10 per hour range in your initial video conference interview. Then after you have completed their mandatory 2 week training, they will conveniently add another payment model which is 4.50 per hour. However, the contract very conveniently DOES NOT stipulate which payment model will be used at which times, and whether you will be given the option to opt out of either payment model. 2) In addition, when I sent a clear respectful inquiry about this loophole my e-mail was ignored. I contacted them via e-mail and Whatsapp a total of 11 times, and received no response. That is, right up to the point where I sent an e-mail warning to report them to the US Fair Employment agency, upon which I received a response in minutes!!! 3) The designated trainer for our group would try to find out in a round-about way whether you are located in the U.S. or abroad so as to feed that information to his superiors, who will then try to stiff you once they find out you are abroad, as U.S. minimum wage laws are enforced, where-as if you are in some third world country, they know they can offer you pennies and get away with it. 4) I read several reviews saying they were shady on Glassdoor, but did not expect them to be this shady. If you are in the third world even 4.50 an hour is not bad. However their jobs boards are scarce! The chances of you actually getting a single hours worth of work per day itself is very slim. 5) They are dishonest, I would avoid them. Just pay the $300 to get official medical translator certification elsewhere, and look for a job elsewhere: make $25 an hour not 4. The main reason folks apply here is because they do not require you to have a medical translation background from the beginning, work experience, certification etc. 6) Summary: not a bad gig if you're desperate. They are now going by the name "360 Smart Lingo." Expect, deception and unprofessionalism.

Thank you so much for your feedback. We welcome all kinds of opinions because that's how we learn and grow. 1) We are sorry for any miscommunication during our interview process. We usually give clear instructions about how much call volume, therefore payment, to expect on a working day on average. We will try to communicate that more clearly in the future. Regarding the rate, since we have 2 working modules, per-hour and per-minute, and we are always keen on maximizing the utilization of our linguists, sometimes when we agree with a linguist on 1 module and there's an opportunity for the other, we would want to change it right away, so we usually give a heads-up about the expected hourly rate ahead of time. And that's the reason for the second rate stated in the contract. But should a linguist refuse this change we don't do it and keep them at their current module. 2) Make sure that you have contacted the right person or department regarding any of your concerns. We have a policy of same-day response for any in-house individual, 2-working-day response time for any external individual. You may have sent your email to the wrong department, which was marked as spam, unfortunately. 3) We don't try to unlawfully obtain any information about our linguists. We demand to know the country of residence during the hiring process in order to take the necessary taxing procedures. Lying about your country of residence puts both the linguist and the company in jeopardy if we attempt to file the wrong tax document, and we will take all legal actions to prevent that. When the trainer discovers someone who is living in a different country than previously reported by the linguist during their interview, they must report it immediately. 4) Our rates are comparable to the industry average for inexperienced interpreters. If you have succeeded in getting paid more, we wish you the best of luck and be glad that we have put you on the amazing career path of interpretation through our FREE training. 5) We pride ourselves on our success in turning bilingual individuals into true linguists and helping them discover a new career path. We have been providing FREE medical interpretation training delivered by professional interpretation trainers as our give back to our global society and to help individuals who are affected by the pandemic find their bearings once more. 6) We are currently doing business as 360 SMART LINGO. Horrible experience

Pros

None. No pros whatsoever. Like living in a horrible nightmare. Hated every day of the three-month probationary period.

Cons

Almost like falling victim to fraud. The company keeps you in the dark about who you are actually providing your service for. Will end up working for a completely different company while 360 takes the lion's share of the money generated by your services. Will lie about the actual amount of time spent interpreting. Was promised a minimum of 4 hours per 6-hour shift. In reality, turned out to be an average of one hour. Will take on trainees who will undoubtedly fail the assessment from the actual company to be worked for, just to shaft the participants with the $300.00 training fee which becomes contractually obligatory.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry for your unpleasant experience. Rates are set according to the industry standards for unexperienced remote interpreters. The training is a skill training not knowledge transfer, therefore, it already costs a lot. However, we decided to provide it for free for a limited time in order to attract more candidates to the interpretation industry. Regarding the call volume, we apologize for that. We are constantly working on increasing our linguists utilization.

call flow way low than expected, also there is no queue, call up for grabs, feels like got to be competing to get a call
