Prevent Cancer Foundation Snapshot
The Prevent Cancer Foundation (formerly The Cancer Research and Prevention Foundation) knows an ounce of prevention can go a long way. The not-for-profit is dedicated to preventing cancer by providing funds for research and public education programs. The foundation concentrates on cancers, such as colorectal, prostate, breast, and skin, that can prevented through lifestyle changes or detection and treatment in their early stages. The group has given funding to more than 300 scientists since its inception. It also works to educate the public on the cancer-fighting benefits of proper diet, exercise, and screenings. Carolyn Aldigé founded the organization following her father's death to cancer in 1985.
