Glen Dimplex keeps turning up the heat on the heating appliance business. The holding company for a portfolio of appliance manufacturers, the Irish firm's businesses include nearly 40 companies from New Zealand to Russia, Hong Kong to the US. The various entities make appliances (solar water heaters, fireplaces, portable and installed heaters, radiators, stoves, vacuums) under brands such as Belling, Dimplex, Morphy Richards, and about 30 others. Founded in 1973 by chairman Dr. Martin Naughton, the company has grown by making at least one acquisition a year since the 1990s. It claims to be the world's largest electrical heating business.
