I worked at Brainlab full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

-As a Clinical Specialist you have one hospital, so depending on the hospital, you may not have to go in everyday. Those days you stay at your home office and do admin work. Be aware though, if your hospital is high volume, you may be in for long hours. Ask about volumes during your interview if possible.
-Decent base salary, Clinical Specialists get a 1% commission if you get your account to renew
-The Regional Sales Managers and Directors vary per region so try to get ahold of someone working in that region to see what the work culture is like. If you're applying for the Mid-Atlantic, its the absolute best region.
-Company has name recognition so after 1.5-2 years recruiters will likely start pursuing you with great opportunities (my class of 8 employees went down to 2 by 2 years - all got higher salaries)
-Great training program (not sure how it is now that its virtual for the pandemic)
-Get a work laptop and work iphone

    Cons

-Sometimes cases come up last minute so you have a hard time making plans
-401k takes 3 years to vest but turn around is closer to 2 years
    -Raises are typically only 2-3%
-Expense system is kind of silly - have to do it electronically and physically mail it in with a whole time consuming tracking procedure
-Advancement probably will take more than 2-3 years. Have to wait for positions to open up or when they create ones

    Advice to Management

-Standardize more processes across the regions
-Come up with policies for difficult hospitals so your CS and ACs arent stuck at the hospital for long days/last minute surgeries

    Application

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Brainlab.

    Interview

Process took about one month after they reached out. First interview was just to give information about the position. Second interview was more detailed but not difficult. Just do some research on the products beforehand.
