About the role

We are inviting applications for the opportunity to grow your career with Orica as a Heavy Vehicle Operator for our MMUs (Mobile Manufacturing Unit).

As a Heavy Vehicle Operator, you will be specifically trained and supported to operate an MMU (Mobile Manufacturing Unit), which is a highly advanced Heavy Rigid vehicle fitted with latest technologies and onboard computer systems. This vehicle is used to pump the explosive product into pre-drilled blast holes on our customer quarry sites.

Based at Stockton Mine, located in the Buller Coalfield near Westport, New Zealand, you will operate on a 7 on, 7 off roster with 12-hour shifts, forming part of a well-oiled, united, high-performing and supportive team of Blasting Professionals.

What you will be doing

Operating our MMU vehicle (Mobile Manufacturing Units) and other associated blasting plant and machinery;
Assisting with preventative maintenance;
Assist with the 'hands-on' delivery of explosive products down pre-drilled blast holes on bench;
Working in tight unison with your teammates to provide a excellence in service to our valued customers;
Demonstrating and setting the example of our key company value: 'Safety is our Priority, Always'.
What you will bring

A current Heavy Rigid (HR) Class 4 driver’s licence, (minimum Class 2 licence considered);
Ability to pass all required security checks in which to obtain a Dangerous Goods licence;
A basic mechanical comprehension is advantageous, but not essential.
