Maynard Marks is a well-established professional multi-disciplinary building consultancy practice with offices in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington and Christchurch. A large portion of our work is delivering projects in school environments, directly to schools or to the Ministry of Education, which is a focus for this role.
This is a great opportunity to step into a role with real ownership, where you’ll lead delivery, build strong client relationships, and contribute to growing our presence in the Waikato region and beyond.
You’ll play a key role across the full project lifecycle, including:
Leading projects on the client side in a professional services environment with responsibility for delivering quality outcomes, managing budgets and project programmes
Managing the full project lifecycle from feasibility through to close-out
Acting as Independent Certifier and/or Contract Administrator under NZS 3910 contracts where required
Managing design coordination, procurement, contracts and risk
Leading communication across project stakeholders, including clients, consultants and contractors
Managing project risks, resolving issues and escalating where needed
Building client relationships and contributing to repeat work and new opportunities.
What you will bring to the team
We’re looking for someone who is proactive, personable, and technically strong, with:
Ideally 5+ years of project management experience and with Ministry of Education training and exposure to the 10YPP process (desirable).
A relevant construction‑related qualification with PMP or similar certification desirable
Strong knowledge of NZ contracts, including NZS 3910
Experience delivering projects independently with confidence
Strong commercial awareness and client focus
Clear communication and stakeholder management skills
A full NZ driver licence.
