About the team
Our Power Systems Group provides specialist analysis, modelling and commissioning oversight to support the safe and secure operation of the power system in line with regulatory obligations.
The team assesses current and emerging system risks, develops and maintains critical power system models, and helps Transpower respond to the challenges and opportunities created by new technologies, new connections and a more dynamic electricity system.
A new opportunity
In this new role you will lead the development, validation and ongoing improvement of the models and tools that support real-time and off-line power system assessment. Your work will help ensure Transpower has trusted modelling capability to identify future security and resilience challenges, support sound engineering decisions, and maintain power system security 24/7.

We’re looking for a technically credible and collaborative leader who can combine deep modelling expertise with strong communication and a focus on practical outcomes. Your experience will be underpinned by a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or a related subject area.
