As an Intermediate Full Stack Engineer, you will contribute to building and enhancing IDEXX’s next-generation veterinary software platforms within our Auckland R&D hub. You’ll work across a modern cloud-native environment, helping deliver scalable solutions that support veterinary practices and improve outcomes for animals and their owners.
The Veterinary Software division is on a mission to build the first vertical SaaS platform for Animal Health. As we continue to grow, we are expanding our Clinical, Practice Management, and Client Engagement domain tribes to accelerate our roadmap, unify our platforms, and deliver more value to customers globally. You will join one of several new squads and play a key role in shaping the future of our platform.
You contribute to building robust and maintainable solutions using modern technologies such as TypeScript, Go, and cloud-native architectures
You develop new features from scratch while enhancing existing functionality across our product portfolio
You identify issues, troubleshoot problems, and resolve bugs with speed and precision
You diagnose and address system performance challenges to improve reliability and responsiveness
You maintain and improve existing frameworks and code structures
You create simple, scalable solutions for complex veterinary workflows
You collaborate with your squad to deliver high-quality outcomes and support shared goals
You review code and contribute to improving code quality and consistency across the team
You work closely with cross-functional teams to understand broader product needs and solve challenges at scale
You contribute to DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and system reliability
This role plays an important part in advancing IDEXX’s mission to transform animal health through technology. By contributing to scalable, high-quality software solutions, you will help veterinary practices operate more efficiently, improve clinical outcomes, and strengthen connections between veterinarians and pet owners. Your work will directly impact the daily experiences of our customers and their patients.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
Experience developing web or mobile applications
Experience with unit testing and ensuring code quality
Strong understanding of object-oriented design, modular design, and design patterns
Experience building and consuming APIs
Familiarity with modern web technologies (e.g. React) and backend technologies (e.g. Go, TypeScript, or other OO languages)
Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS
Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban, or similar)
Nice to have:
Experience working in a scaled SaaS environment
Familiarity with event-driven architectures, containerization, and distributed systems
Exposure to DevOps practices and automation
