      Easy interview

      The process took 2 weeks.

      Interview

First stage was a home c++ programming assignment to complete in 9 hours. The assignment was to implement an efficient operation on some unique data structure based on an internal std::map. Not very hard if you are familiar with std::map, but there are some corner cases, so you probably would need a randomized test to get them all. Second stage was a Skype interview (with screen sharing). I was given an assignment to implement a template function of a binary search with minimal number of comparisons (optimal solution does exactly one comparison per iteration, so it's not the textbook implementation). They don't allow using a compiler or debugger - only a text editor. Also, doing a web search is not allowed. I followed the rules but this is pretty silly since one can cheat quite easily (with another PC). The interviewer put me on hold several times, leaving me in an awkward situation - waiting for him to return. At some point I was put on hold and he never returned. After quite some time (hours..) an HR woman contacted me and told me that he went to some meetings. I beleive this is very rude and disrespectful, wasting pepole's time like that. Didn't even apologize, just disappeared. So, be warned.

      Interview

After spending hours to do a test - they reject the application without even bothering providing feedback (and that despite the fact the test was well done and passing all the tests) - that is not a professional behavior and lacks respect for the time people invest in the process.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and feedback. We’re sorry to hear that you found the process frustrating, especially considering the time and effort you invested. We understand how important it is for candidates to feel that their work is acknowledged and respected. We understand that not receiving detailed feedback can create the impression that your effort was not fully recognized. However, providing specific feedback on the assessment would compromise the integrity of our evaluation process and our ability to apply it consistently to all candidates. We appreciate your understanding in this regard. Best regards, People Team

      Interview

First it was a coffee chat and then a 10h technical assesment, without any feedback for their side. It was frustrating because after investing a lot of time, they don't even tell you nothing.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and feedback. We’re sorry to hear that the process felt frustrating. We aim to create a recruitment experience that is both fair and respectful of candidates’ time. Our technical test is designed to assess problem-solving skills in a realistic way and help us identify the strong technical abilities required to maintain the high standards of think-cell’s products. The platform allows up to 10 hours to complete the task to give candidates flexibility, for example to take breaks if needed. In practice, many candidates complete and submit their solutions within around 2–4 hours. Regarding feedback, we also understand that not receiving detailed comments on a submission can feel disappointing. Unfortunately, providing specific feedback on the assessment would compromise the integrity of our evaluation process and our ability to continue using this test consistently with all candidates. We appreciate your understanding on this matter. Best regards, People Team
