The interview process started off as great, very friendly and timely in their feedback and process of moving forward. All the discussions were clear, the hiring manager and other stakeholders were nice but very thorough in their questioning. Except for this one external marketing consultant who thought being tough, and putting candidates under pressure was the right thing to do. And she seemed to be the one having the most influence- felt extremely rude and felt like she was always ‘testing’. The process took a turn for the worst when they invited me to their offices and then gave 2 tasks which were to be solved in an hour- and that too on their laptop. It felt less like an honest case study evaluation and more like an exam where one performs under pressure. I’ve little respect for companies that ask candidates to take an entire day off work, travel all the way to another city and then pressure test them. Even worse was the presentation and questioning that followed. The entire process left me drained and disillusioned and not wanting to work for such a company where their job description doesn’t match the candidates they shortlist and despite being honest about one’s experience and gaps, the company tries to make you feel like you’re not a fit. Thank goodness it didn’t work out, I eventually found a better role and saw that they role at Tado was still live on LinkedIn for the next few months.
