Depending on your lifestyle, would be *very* wary of accepting an offer here.
First things:
- They use HireArt to screen for interviews, so you do a video interview first and are then contacted by HireArt to schedule an in-person interview (if you get to that step), and are asked to fill out a questionnaire before going on. The questionnaire is very repetitive of the video interview questions, so save those if you do that.
- I met with a lead on their team, who was very nice. My interview was initially scheduled for 6:30PM (already a red flag in my head), and I ended up rescheduling it for 7:30PM because some other commitments came up.
- The interview itself was standard, I thought their team lead asked good questions and knew how to connect resume narrative dots.
Here's what gave me pause:
- I was told that it is standard for folks to come into the office at 8AM, and leave at 8/9PM. When I asked how that affected culture and if there was any ill feelings towards people who leaved earlier than that, the answer was yes, and it's something they struggle with. Major red flag, the whole idea that folks are anxious to leave if their coworker hasn't left, etc.
- They only have two clients, and fifteen team members.
- They don't have full benefits, despite being around since 2011.
There are too many other agencies in NYC for this to be acceptable.
