      Educator Interview

      4 Oct 2013
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at lululemon

      Interview

I applied online and was invited to a group interview that same night. When I went to the group interview, I was under the assumption that it was for assistant manager and key leader positions because that was what I applied for online. I got to the interview and was told they were only hiring for part-time seasonal. I apparently did well enough during the interview that the key leader pulled me aside and said they are actually recruiting for an assistant manager, they just didn't want to say that in front of the other girls. I went on to the "sweat with me" portion with a key leader who said they were hiring for part-time seasonal. After that I had another interview with the assistant manager at Starbucks and we spent an hour talking about my goals, how I like to sweat, the lemon manifesto. I mentioned that I was interested in management and she seemed surprised -- almost like she had no clue I was interested in anything other than PT seasonal. At this point I was getting frustrated that I had now had three interviews for a position that was "not guaranteed ANY hours" and wasn't even a permanent position. I assumed that would be the last interview and almost burst into tears when she told me I would be having a FOURTH interview with the store manager. I geared myself up for another round the following day and had the exact same type of conversation with the manager -- why Lululemon, how do I handle angry customers, what is my 5-year plan. After this interview, she told me they would run my background check and references. That was over a week ago and I sent a follow up email to see my status three days ago, which was unanswered. At this point, I have no idea if I'm being considered for a position. If I am, I have no idea what it's for and my communication have been ignored. Either this store really unorganized, or Lululemon feels entitled to nitpick their candidates so finely that even temporary, part-time employees are made to jump through incredible hoops to be graced with the honor of folding $100 pants. It's hard because the girls are very nice and make you feel like you're interviewing well, but you never really know what your status is. Be prepared to feel like you rocked the interview and then get declined (or in my case, ignored). My initial excitement with this company is quickly fading because I feel like I'm rushing a sorority, not gaining employment. -- know the manifesto -- don't say you would be hard on customers, the manager said they basically never say the customer is wrong and bend store policies to make customers happy (i.e -- returns, etc.)
