      Director Interview

      12 Oct 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Zovio

      Interview

I'm leaving this review in the hope that others will see and have a heads up. As well, I pray for someone high in HR at Zovio sees this and changes process and implements common courtesy in their workplace. The first interview was conducted with an individual in HR via phone. It was a quick 15-20 minute call that led to a second-round interview. The HR individual did a great job at setting up the next round, giving me ample amounts of information about the individual I would be meeting with via video conference, the company/position and even benefits within their follow-up email that confirmed the time/date/link that the interview would be conducted. The second interview day was here. I was prepared and took time away from my current role to pursue this position. I waited on the video chat for about 5 minutes, when no one joined, I shot a quick email to the HR individual to ensure that I had joined the correct link and asked whether the individual that would be conducting the interview was still available. They confirmed I was in the right video conference and that I should be joined in shortly, perhaps a meeting was running late. Fast forward to 15-20 minutes still waiting on the video conference, the HR personnel jumped on stating that they're looking for the individual and would be here shortly. Fast forward to waiting for over 30 minutes now, the HR individual jumped on the video call once again, they apologized and stated they needed to reschedule due to scheduling conflicts. After I jumped off the video conference. I sent a quick thanks and follow-up email to HR. I told them my availability throughout the rest of the week and that I looked forward to getting things rescheduled. The next day, I received no confirmation or communication what so ever from HR or the company. I waited for two days and followed up via call. The individual did not answer, so I left a polite message explaining who I was and that we were in talks to reschedule my second-round interview. It's now 2-3 days after leaving that voicemail. I received no communication what so ever. A simple courtesy statement of 'we've filled the position,' 'we've decided to go another route,' etc. would have been greatly appreciated and the correct and professional thing to do. If I do ever hear back... This is a company I would not want to work for. The fact that common courtesy and basic communication disappeared completely within the interview process is a true reflection of the company, culture, and employees. The sad thing is that I was actually very excited about this opportunity.

      Interview

The interview sessions were fine, but the recruitment process had multiple delays and changes in personnel during the hiring process. I had a phone interview with HR, then had a conference call with a small panel of managers, then a half day series of interviews with the larger team, plus an interview with the position’s Supervisor,
