      Senior Financial Analyst Interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Zonda Home (Austin, TX) in Oct 2025

      Interview

I went through three interviews with Zonda, a recruiter, a manager, and a director. The first manager I met with had only been with the company for a week, yes, just one week. Their Austin office is very small as their HQ is in California, but the role was hybrid which allows for some flexibility since sounds like the majority of people you’d be dealing with are not even in Austin. In the second interview, the director admitted that the finance team is also inexperienced and young and that there has been a lot of turnover on the team recently. Considering the recruiter was also new, I suspect there has been turnover throughout the entire organization. This was certainly concerning to me. The finance team is also undergoing a multi-year ERP transition that makes things more challenging and complex. If you are an experienced FP&A professional, this maybe isn’t the right team for you unless they hire you as a lead or manager, but if you are on the inexperienced side and really want experience in this industry, this could be a good opportunity. I unfortunately didn’t make it past the third round of interviews, but the manager and director seemed friendly, and they both provided fair and informative interviews. While this is a team that is young and developing, I got a sense that there is a collaborative and supportive culture here, you just need to get past the reason for the high turnover on this team.
