I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Zerofootprint (Toronto, ON) in May 2015
Interview
Positive talk with Back-End Developer + Software Development Manager. Answered a few simple technical questions and talked about development roadmap.
Extremely negative talk with company founder. Almost all of the talk was him voicing his own insecurities. He expressed disappointment over his back-end developer leaving after he gave him a raise and staying for 2+ years as if the developer was being ungrateful. Out of nowhere, he expressed the importance of communication skills and used the term "fresh off the boat," the back-end developer was Asian and I am too.
Since I didn't have the courage at the time to walk out of the interview on the spot, the recruiter told them I'd pass on my behalf. Obviously no offer, didn't want one.

Interview
A recruiter emailed me a coding assignment after getting a positive response to my resume. I completed this assignment in an afternoon over the August long weekend, taking care to provide well-documented, well-tested solutions with unit tests that validated my output for representative classes of input in each case. I then zipped my code and emailed back to the recruiter.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
[No Spoilers] The coding assignment was few Fibonacci number problems that were at most moderately complex. It took an hour or two to get good answers and a bit longer to brush up code and add nice tests. The questions all concerned the computation of Fibonacci numbers or series of numbers using iterative, recursive, and computational algorithms.
