My Personal Interview Timeline Process:
1. 11/11/21 applied for the position
2. 12/13 first 30-minute Zoom interview
3. 12/16 second 45-minute Zoom interview
4. 12/20 received take-home assignment to submit by Thursday 12/23
5. 1/10 third interview (1 hour)
6. 1/13 fourth, fifth and sixth interviews (1 hour each)
7. 1/18 Provided 3 references who each had 15-minute video calls with the recruiter
8. 1/24 received job offer
Overall, the interview process was a very positive experience and not because I did receive a job offer. Every individual with whom I spoke was very kind, positive, transparent and respectful. At no point did I ever feel like they were purposely trying to trip me up with any questions. One person even told me that her questions will be geared toward teamwork and how I have worked on a team in the past. It was nice knowing that upfront.
From the time I started interviewing, I would say the process went quickly even though it may not seem so if you look at the timeline. I had to contend with the Christmas and New Year holiday, and the first week of January, I was unavailable for any interviews. Depending on your schedule, the interview process could go much quicker.
I have not interviewed for many positions in the past, so the interview process at YipitData was quite intense with the number of interviews, and I have never had to do a take-home assignment. However, I understand the purpose of the take-home assignment because it a) allows the company to see what your work product would be for the specific role for which you are interviewing, and b) you can see yourself a glimpse at the work you may be doing. The purpose of the interviews, assignment and references are so the company truly finds the right fit.
Scheduling the interviews was so easy too! I could pick from an online calendar a few dates and times that worked best for me, and YipitData would select which date/time worked for them as well. For the last round of back-to-back interviews, I emailed with the recruiter from HR and gave my time slots. But everyone from the recruiter(s) in HR to the individuals with whom you will interview are very helpful throughout the process and want to keep the process moving along as much as you do.
