I applied online. I interviewed at Yelp (San Francisco, CA) in May 2013
Interview
The interview process was fairly simple. There was an initial phone interview where they ask about your background, why you want to be in sales and why you want to work for Yelp. Make sure to keep your answers clear and concise, they don't want people who ramble on the phone!
Then they do either an in-person interview or a Skype interview (if you're not local) with three sales managers. Main things they look for are people who are confident and people who can implement feedback.

Question 1
Why sales? Why Yelp? Tell me about a time you dealed with rejection. How did you overcome that rejection? Why cold calling? What motivates you?
You'll have to do a slight role play where you're asked to sell Yelp Ads to a small business. Don't stress too much- just implement the feedback they give you.

The interview process was pleasant from start to finish. It included a recruiter phone screen, a video call with the sales manager, a role play exercise, and the opportunity to implement the manager’s feedback.

The interview process with Yelp was a very organized experience. From the first email after I put in my application, to the offer extension call, I always felt well informed and included.
