I applied online. I interviewed at YSS (Ames, IA) in Feb 2018
Interview
Was with two other interviewers who took turns asking questions, the interviewing process was very straight forward and was laid back. The interviewers went over the position details and asked questions regarding working holidays, weekends, overnights to gauge whether I would be available for those positions. They then told me that staff is required to be on call at least once a month.

I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at YSS (Ames, IA)
Interview
I was interviewed by the program director and another administrator. They shared a lot of information about the organization and what they were doing in the counseling department. In some ways, it seemed like they were trying to recruit me to their organization as opposed to interview me for a position. I knew they only took one or two interns at a time, so I took this as a sign that my education and experience was desirable to them.
I applied through other source. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at YSS (Des Moines, IA)
Interview
I was dressed better than the supervisor. Her office was a fire hazard. She barely asked me anything or cared about anything I said. She offered me a PRN position & chose to hire her friend for FT based on the fact that her friend lied about having her CNA license (she also didn't have a driver license). And that friend only lasted 2 years before being fired. I ended up lasting over 8 & being promoted until I was stuck in Ames.
