I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at XPO (Columbia, SC) in Apr 2013
Interview
I was called for a phone interview with HR. Then, I was asked to drive an hour and a half to Charlotte, NC for a group interview, which lasted about two hours. I was emailed a skills assessment afterwards, which had some difficult math questions, and asked to go on a working interview at the Columbia, SC branch. At this branch, I was asked several inappropriate, and illegal questions.

Was I married? Where did I live? Do I have children? How old are your children? Do you feel comfortable leaving your children with a babysitter while you go to work?
I was contacted by a recruiter on LinkedIn, had an in-person interview with the Sales Manager and then a second interview where I job shadowed the other Sales Reps. After accepting the job I had to take a drug test at a facility.

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at XPO
Interview
I had my resume submitted through a recruiter. It was a smooth process. Still salty about the result though, as it appears to have been for a petty reason. My answer to the question below was the reason I was not hired.
Over done and not based on ability or skill. The whole process was based on who liked you versus your ability or background. Looking for yes people, not forward thinkers.
