I participated as a final-stage candidate for a Head of Market Strategy role. The process included multiple interviews, two substantial tasks, one of which was issued late and completed over a weekend, and international travel at my own expense for the final panel.
At the final interview, there was limited alignment within the panel. One interviewer was not aware of the task I had prepared, and the discussion focused more on earlier-stage topics than the work delivered.
The process was then closed via a generic HR email, without hiring manager feedback or acknowledgment of the time and cost involved.
I understand not every process leads to an offer. However, at this level, candidates should expect aligned evaluation and clear closure, particularly when significant effort is required.
