Started with 2 phone interviews, one with the recruiter and then the hiring manager. Next and final round was in person with the hiring manager and team. Spoke to the VP on the phone after the in person. The interviews themselves were behavioral and pretty casual as a whole.
Despite getting told that an answer would be given within the week/early next week, I received no response. I reached out to the recruiter twice and also to the hiring manager after hearing nothing for about 2-3 weeks and they never responded. I must say, for all the HR staff members who complain about candidates ghosting them, they are guilty of doing the same thing.
After getting that far into the interview and never getting a follow up from anyone is incredibly unprofessional and reflects poorly on the company. Every HR expert advises follow up to close out the experience. It would’ve been more positive if there at least was closure, even if it was a rejection instead of outright ignoring the candidate. Overall, it’s more disrespectful to the candidate since they have to arrange time off/set up time away from projects from their current company to speak with you. If you’re not hiring for the position, or don’t have the courtesy to let your final round candidates know the status; don’t waste their time.
