I was first contacted by their own internal recruiter on LinkedIn, then 5 other interviews all the way up to the VP level. Though I quite liked meeting the actual hiring manager, the VP appeared to have unrealistic expectations given the salary they were providing. The internal HR is also non-responsive and appeared to be one-way communications and quite junior, even though this is a senior role (I am currently a Director role in the organization I work for). They also lacked cultural context and though the colleagues and actual hiring manager seem to be quite chilled and nice to work with, the VP was a joke and came across quite condenscending and seemed to have too high of expectations. Senior HR rep told me he had to talk to the VP (definitly the micromanger and narcisistic male ego type) several times and 5 other candidates were rejected before me, the VP still came across as offensive and unrealstic. I mean who would get a good impression of the senior management when he told me "I know the client better and I am screening the candidates" even though he doesn't even reside in my country and he has very limited touch points with the said stakeholder who is the C level decision maker of the said client company. Red flags all over.
