I applied in-person. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at World Financial Group (Edmonton, AB)
Interview
The agent presented the company, and the model that they broker fro a lot of financial firms, some of them I already do business with, and then they told me that they are looking for Sales Agents, and that I can get promoted on my efforts. There are promotion rules, and I could not get passed up for promotions. I could become a Sales Trainer, and manage a Sales team. I would have to get licensed by the Alberta Insurance council, and maintain my license. I would have to look for clients, and do marketing, and close deals, to get paid.
It sounded good, and easy enough, just like any other profession, I was an engineer before, and had to maintain my license for that. This company offered over 300 products, and I could pick and choose which ones I would become proficient with. Loved that.
