brief, was just an informal chat. I got the feeling that the hiring manager wanted to flex his own ego rather than show any interest in me. I got the feeling that I may have got the job just for turning up.
Interviewers were pleasant enough and mostly asked relevant questions, however the follow up was very poor and unprofessionally managed. I was adivsed I'd definitely hear either way by the end of the week. The end of the week came and I hadn't heard anything so gave the hiring manager a call. She didn't answer and wouldn't speak to me directly but passed on a message to say they'd let me know very soon. Another week passed so I contacted HR. Soon after they sent me a blanket email response saying I was unsuccessful. If you're going to advise a date to let a candidate know if they were successful or not, you should stick to it and not string them along.
