I applied online and was called for a phone screen. This was the second time speaking to a recruiter from this firm (first time they declined to proceed with my candidacy). The recruiter ask very basic questions, so it was pretty simple. However, I got the impression that she zoned out halfway through my interview. I tried to keep the conversation going as I had a lot of questions, being genuinely interested in working at the firm. For many of my questions, the recruiter either didn't have an answer, or she contradicted information posted on the firm's website. I was genuinely interested in the firm's work and was disappointed when it declined my application after a second try. Fortunately, this experience was a great teaching experience in how to gauge a firm's interest in you, and I managed to secure offers from seven of this firm's top competitors.
