I have had a difficult time delegating responsibility. For instance, while working as a manager at a coffee shop, we had a high turnover of staff and also constantly had new products being launched or special offers that we were trying to sell depending on the time of the year. Sometimes it could become frustrating training staff who would leave after a week or two so I went through a phase of doing more and more things myself, rather than asking someone else. Of course, I ended up becoming ratty and angry and also getting pretty stressed, until I realised that I could streamline the training process by delegating it to a regular member of staff and making sure that our team felt well supported so they were less likely to leave the job.
